Non-partisan politics?

Non-partisan politics?

As local people will know, Colin Challen and his office staff have helped Morley people irrespective of party allegiance since he was elected as our MP in 2001.

Colin Challen, Maureen Best and his team have worked tirelessly for Morley and its people. They have taken up issues for thousands of local people, as well as campaigning and supporting causes that have improved our town and its environment.

Ex-Labour councillor Robert Finnigan is showing his usual bitterness against an opponent who defeated him. He was overwhelmingly defeated in Morley at the 2005 general election by Colin Challen.

Despite Coun Finnigan’s comments on a non-partisan approach to politics, he does not always follow his own words. He is not a true independent but deeply involved in party politics at the civic hall in Leeds.

He is involved in making party political deals and arrangements which ensure that his Morley Borough Independent Party keep the Tory-led council in Leeds in power.
